Who writes Hostilo
Every review and guide carries a byline. Here’s who’s behind the work.
- Editorial team
Hostilo Editorial
The Hostilo editorial team independently tests every web hosting provider we cover. Our reviews combine hands-on benchmarks (uptime, time-to-first-byte, support response times) with cost-of-ownership analysis at renewal pricing, not just intro rates. We accept affiliate commissions but commissions never influence rankings.
Profile → - Senior reviews editor
Maya Okafor
Maya leads provider reviews at Hostilo. She spent eight years running infrastructure for digital publishers before moving into editorial, where she still personally migrates a real WordPress site to every host we test. Her reviews focus on the gap between marketing claims and what an operator actually sees at month three.
Profile → - Performance & VPS lead
Daniel Reiss
Daniel runs Hostilo's performance lab. He builds the synthetic load harnesses behind our TTFB and uptime numbers, and writes our VPS and cloud coverage. Before Hostilo he was an SRE at two cloud providers, which is why he is unusually patient with — and unusually skeptical of — vendor benchmark claims.
Profile → - Beginners & cost analysis editor
Priya Shah
Priya covers the questions most hosting reviews skip: what a beginner actually needs, what renewals really cost, and which security features are non-negotiable versus upsell theatre. She previously taught web fundamentals at a coding bootcamp, and writes Hostilo's plain-English explainers and total-cost-of-ownership breakdowns.
